Where can I get medical supplies from?

Williams Medical, Healthcare Equipment and Supplies and Medisave are all suppliers of healthcare equipment who have been supplying primary care for some time. For contraception Durbin has a good range and Amazon can supply a range of products and is particularly useful if you are in a rush.

What medical supplies can be purchased?

You will need a range of medical supplies for your practice, these include:

Medical supplies

Disposables (including PPE and dressings)

Medical equipment (such as defibrillators and stethoscopes)

Pharmaceuticals (medication)

Medical furniture (medical trolleys and treatment couches)

Stationery

Infection control

Considerations

You will need to bear in mind that there may be some delivery and wait times to get your medical supplies so ensure you order before you run out.

Medical equipment and pharmaceuticals are likely to have expiry dates so make sure you regularly check your stock.

What's it like

“Having medical supplies in stock and readily available to use is key for running a successful private GP practice. It is a good idea to shop around and find a supplier you are happy using, but also have a range of back up suppliers just in case.”
