Do I need different CQC registration depending on the service I am delivering?

You will need to register for each regulated activity which you will be offering. It is common to register for more than one regulated activity as part of your application.

What are the services I can register for?

There are a number of regulated activities you can include in your application, these are:

Regulated services

Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

Surgical procedures

Diagnositic and screening procedures

Maternity, midwifery, family planning services and termination of pregnancy

Management of the supply of blood and blood delivered services

Personal care and nursing care

Accom for persons who require nursing, personal care or treatment for substance misuse

Assessment of medical treatment for those detained under the Mental Health Act 1983

Transport services, triage and medical advice provided remotely

Which services do the CQC regulate?

The CQC monitors, inspects and regulates all services which provide health and social care. These include ambulances, care homes, clinics, dentists, GPs, hospitals and hospices.

How do I register my private GP services?

To register your private GP services with the CQC you will need to apply on their website.

They do not accept applications via post so you will need to either use the provider portal or email all your complete application forms and supporting documents to them.

What's it like

“During your CQC application you have the option to register multiple services. It is important that you decide which services you will be offering to ensure you are fully covered with your CQC registration”
