Signature RX

Before using signature RX, our doctors were issuing prescriptions manually.

The patient would need to be given the prescription from the doctor in person and then take this to a pharmacy where they could collect their medication or wait for it to come in.

We knew we needed a digital solution to make issuing prescriptions easier and more accessible to patients who weren’t able to attend the clinic in person.

After speaking with other private GPs and doing some research, signature RX appeared to be the best fit for us.

Each of our doctors has a separate account which is linked to the clinic. Here they can pull patient information directly from EMIS and issue the prescription.

The prescription will then either be sent directly to the patient’s mobile phone or to their pharmacy of choice.

The prescription is then linked with the patient’s EMIS record so their medical history is up to date and any other doctor from the clinic can see what they have been prescribed if necessary.

Our GPs prefer to use signature RX over any other prescription method as it is a fast and secure way to get prescriptions to our patients.

It is also preferred by patients as they can collect their prescription from any pharmacy of their choice and doesn’t require them to come into the clinic to collect the script.

Knowing we can issue prescriptions without patients needing to attend the clinic, signature RX has enabled us to expand our services, offering online consultations to patients all over the country.

This has given us a new revenue stream and made our doctors accessible to a new group of patients.

Yes! Signature RX is a great tool to use. It is fast, secure and compliant. It has proved particularly useful in the context of remote consultations which have largely come as a result of the pandemic but are now a regular occurrence within our clinic.
